VoteLocal

mobile app prototype

Vote Local App Home Screen

The VoteLocal app was designed to help voters stay informed about upcoming elections, with an emphasis on state and local candidates. Prior to creating the prototype, I conducted an anonymous online survey to gather feedback from potential users about their voting habits, preferences, and candidate selection behaviors. Using the survey results and data collected from a competitive analysis, I created a concept and wireframe of VoteLocal.

This prototype was created specifically for users in Ohio, but could be modified for any state. The app is designed with a simple interface that allows users to interact with or without creating an account. VoteLocal will act as a support tool to help voters at all levels of engagement to quickly research and add “favorite” candidates within the app. With a built-in reminder function, users will also be able to set custom prompts to remind them of upcoming elections.

After conducting a usability study to gather participants' feedback, a few final adjustments were made to the prototype. Based on feedback collected during the study, menu font sizes were increased and additional clickable areas (logo) were added.
